This is a letter of gratitude to Anne Klees, Tom Whitfield and the town council of Qualicum Beach. Congratulations to you and the countless volunteers and donors who were impassioned and allowed the Heritage Forest to stand.
You have demonstrated vision, commitment and a distinct love of nature. Last spring, two women from Singapore told me: “we have nothing like this where we live... it is a privilege to walk here.”
Indeed. In a broader landscape where fast-food chains, hotel chains and endless cement seem to dominate, the Heritage Forest is a gift to all.
Qualicum Beach should be proud of this accomplishment and the beauty they have uniformly maintained. Again, thank you all.
